Iceland - Day 4
Today was for heading west back toward the Golden Circle. Our guest house included a breakfast today, so that was a nice treat.
Our fist stop today was at Fjaoragljufur, which is described as a mossy canyon straight out of a fantasy movie, and I couldn't agree more! it is one of the most unique places I have ever seen! There is a trail that is about 2km.
It is too beautiful to narrow down which photos I share!
On the way to the next stop we had the most beautiful rainbow.
Next we stopped at Skogafoss, it was the perfect time to visit as it had stopped raining and we could really enjoy it.
The cool part about this waterfall is that you can see it from above and below, but... to see it from above you have to climb, and that climb is about 500 steps. It was so tough, and I had to stop for a few breaks, but, it was so worth it and I was so happy I did!
We didn't have any more stops on the plan for the day, so we just drove to our stop for the night, but took our time and stopped to take photos wherever we wanted and for anything we wanted, it was a great afternoon.
We had seen these buildings built into the side of the mountain the other day, but it was easier to stop today since we were on the right side of the road, they just looked cool!
I also had to stop and take photos of the sheep. If you didn't know there are more sheep in Iceland then people!
Just some randomness we found along the way and our little Jimny!

And then this photo when you leave.
Near Selfoss we found this unique lighthouse
And there were horses there too!!
It was low tide so we wandered around and explored for a while.
Our accommodations for the night were at Litli Geysir, which was right across from the geysir, so we went off to explore this area. It was pretty cool.
The visitor centre was very nice.
